After completion of the initial three years of production, the farmer must enter for the certi? cation. S It costs more, because the cost of cultivation is higher although the yield obtained is low. The demand is higher when compared to the supply. Also, it is pesticide and fertilizer free and has a higher nutritional value, steering it towards being a healthier alternative. M Is there a national standard for Organic Farming? S No M How do farmers fertilize crops and control pests, diseases and weeds?
